Project of Key Laboratory for Solid Waste Management and Environment Safety, Ministry of Education of China (SWMES) sailed through final acceptance work on Dec 29.
Ming Mei, Director of Office of Fundament, Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, Zhen Shuning, Director of Office of Scientific R&D, Tsinghua University, and Prof. Yu Gang, Dean of SOE, respectively addressed on behalf of Ministry of Education, Tsinghua University and SOE. Prof. Nie Yongfeng, Director of SWMES, made a report on the project at the meeting. Prof. Duan Lei, Vice Dean of SOE, Prof. Jiang Jianguo, Vice Dean of SOE and other main members of SWMES also attended.
SWMES was approved to establish in Jan, 2009 and passed the demonstration of construction in May, 2009. Prof. NieYongfeng introduced the construction and administration situation of SWMES in recent two years and concluded the outcome of technology research and industry, personnel training and academic communication. Director Ming Mei and experts from Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences evaluated the achievements of SWMES and gave the suggestion for further development of SWMES.
