An assembly was held in Tsinghua’s Main Building on June 2 to recognize excellence in teaching and research in 2010. President Gu Binglin, Deputy President Chen Jining, Tsinghua Vice Presidents Kang Kejun, Xie Weihe, Cheng Jianping, and Yuan Si, and Vice Chairperson of University Council Deng Wei attended the formal gathering to honor faculty members who had won national awards for their outstanding endeavors. Academician Hao Jiming from School Of Environment accepted an award for the project he leaded aimed at improving air quality in megacites, which is awarded the Second Prize of National Award for Science and Technology in January 2011.
