SOE men’s football team won the first champion of Ma Yuehan Cup of Tsinghua University in history on April 7.
The final game against the Department of Electronic Engineering started with a kickoff by Shi Zongkai, Deputy Secretary of Tsinghua Committee of CPC. Dean of SOE Yu Gang, Secretary of SOE Committee of the CPC Du Pengfei, and Deputy Secretary of SOE Committee of the CPC Liu Jianguo showed up to cheer on the SOE football team. After 90 minutes’ battle, SOE beat the Department of Electronic Engineering at 1-0, claiming the SOE’s first winner of Ma Yuehan Cup. Peng Bo of SOE won the Best Scorer with 6 goals.
SOE football team came out as the group winner, and defeated Department of Chemical Engineering, which had won Quadruple in the Ma Yuehan Cup, in the semi-final at 3-2, heading to the fi nal of Group A for the first time in history. The championship is a special gift for the Tsinghua Centenary Celebration and the establishment of the School of Environment.
