Meandering in the Tropics, an exhibition reviewing the development of Indonesian modern and contemporary art, opened at Tsinghua University Art Museum on March 10 in Beijing.
It is the museum’s first exhibition in 2021 and part of the celebrations of the 110th anniversary of Tsinghua’s founding.
The exhibition is composed of more than 70 works ranging from sketches, drawings and paintings to sculptures and videos. The art pieces span nearly a hundred years, from the 1930s up to today.
The artworks are being displayed on the third floor of the museum and the exhibition will last until July 18.
The art show’s opening ceremony was presided over by Du Pengfei, Executive Director of the museum. Speeches were made by Yang Bin, Vice-President and Provost of Tsinghua, Su Dan, Vice-Director of the art museum and the general planner of the exhibition, and Tsinghua University alumnus Du Yuzhou, the former Chairman of the China National Textile and Apparel Council.
