Academician Hao Jiming from the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering and Professor Fu Shuigen, director of the Center for Basic Industrial Training were named renowned teachers of the nation as the result of the selection for the Second Higher Education Renowned Teachers was announced recently.

The award for Renowned Teachers in Higher Education is initiated by the Ministry of Education in 2003. Every three years, 100 teachers are selected among the nation as renowned teachers for their academic and teaching excellence.
Five Tsinghua teachers were selected in the first year in which the awards were made.
