On the evening of July 20th, the 2006 Tsinghua English Summer Camp was successfully closed. More than 3000 freshmen and over 180 foreign/Chinese teachers and volunteers attended the ceremony. At the ceremony, Prof. Chen Xu, Senior Administrator of Tsinghua University, spoke on behalf of the university to express her appreciation to all the participants in the Summer Camp. Tsinghua alumna, famous Ping-Pong world champion, Deng Yaping, spoke highly of Tsinghua students’ enthusiasm in language learning and expressed her best wishes to them.
This is the 3rd annual summer camp organized by the Department of Foreign Languages at Tsinghua University on a large scale. The 2006 Tsinghua English Summer Camp is very successful and has helped Tsinghua students to improve their language skills and to better understand western cultures.
