The national basketball trials for the 23rd World University Games were held in People’s University of China from April 1 to April 3. Four teams--two from the North Region of the China University Basketball Super League and two from the South--participated in the competition.
The Tsinghua Men’s Basketball Team competed as the substitute team for Northeastern University and won for the championship against the teams from People’s University (with a score of 101-91), Shanghai Jiaotong University (100-90), and Hunan University (90-87).
The basketball team representing China at the 23rd World University Games held in Turkey in August will be coached by Huang Yunlong, head coach of Tsinghua Men’s Basketball Team. Six team members will be from Tsinghua and the rest will be chosen from other teams in the League.
