Tsinghua University launched its first time admission by recommendation program in Hong Kong on June 5.
Vice-president Gong Ke spoke at the press conference for admission, and expressed sincere hope this move would reinforce the cooperation and communication between Hong Kong and Tsinghua, and educate more talented people for the prosperity of Hong Kong.
More than 1,000 people came for consultation, and the Architecture and Engineering majors were most popular among Hong Kong students. Tsinghua planned to enroll 50 Hong Kong students through recommendation, and a new scholarship, funded by Huarun Group Ltd., will be established to sponsor the admitted students.
