A team of researchers from Tsinghua University's School of Clinical Medicine and the School of Software has won the Gold Medal and the Semi-Grand Prix for their "Intelligent Clinical Trial Monitoring System" at the Silicon Valley International Inventions Festival (SVIIF).
The team, led by Dong Jiahong, Wang Jianmin, Feng Xiaobin, and Li Chengquan, made innovative use of cutting-edge AI technologies, including large language models and causal inference, to develop a system capable of automatically generalizing, intelligently generating issue prompts, and precisely tracking down the causes of deviations. This advancement makes end-to-end intelligent quality control possible. "This represents a paradigm shift from experience-driven to data intelligence-driven clinical trials," said Feng Xiaobin, an associate professor from the School of Clinical Medicine.
The festival featured 221 invention projects from 18 countries and regions. The China Association of Inventions organized 33 outstanding domestic projects to participate. Tsinghua University's award-winning innovation stands out for its focus on addressing critical challenges and contributing to the noble goal of benefiting humanity.
