Professor Li Shao from Tsinghua’s Department of Automation recently won the 2024 China Pharmaceutical Development Outstanding Achievement Award.
Professor Li has gained international acclaim during his time as the head of the Tsinghua University Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Interdisciplinary Research Institute. He pioneered new TCM research methods using big data and AI, created TCM network pharmacology, developed the UNIQ system for navigating molecular networks of Chinese and Western medicine, and established an early prevention and treatment system for gastric cancer. His work has led to innovative achievements in gastric cancer prevention and precise Chinese medicine development.
The China Pharmaceutical Development Award recognizes and rewards pharmaceutical professionals for outstanding contributions and significant scientific achievements in their field. It aims to inspire the industry to reach and surpass global standards, fostering the advancement of pharmacy.
So far, the award has been granted to more than 300 outstanding talents.
