Tsinghua Research Achievements Win 15 State Science and Technology Awards
Fifteen Tsinghua research achievements recently were recognized at the 2013 State Science and Technology Awards. Tsinghua professors accepted the awards on January 10 at the annual National Science-Technology Award Ceremony in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Of Tsinghua’s 15 awards, five were State Natural Science Awards, five were State Technological Invention Awards, and five were State Scientific and Technological Progress Awards. Altogether eight research achievements were completed by Tsinghua as the lead research institution in collaboration with others.
The research on Development and application of new large-scale structure-soil interface test systems, primarily achieved by Professor Zhang Jianmin and his colleagues won the State Technological Invention Award first prize.
The research team led by Professor Kang Kejun was awarded the National Scientific and Technological Progress (Innovation Team).
By the end of 2013, Tsinghua had won a total of 471 National Science and Technology Awards, including one State Top Scientific and Technological Award, 57 National Natural Science Awards, 136 National Technological Invention Awards, and 277 National Scientific and Technological Progress Awards.
