A commencement ceremony to award graduate degrees was held in the gymnasium at Tsinghua University on July 18. There were 898 doctorates and 3,768 master’s degrees awarded at the ceremony.
Tsinghua President and Chairman of the Degree Conferral Committee Gu Binglin, together with other university leaders, presented degrees and certificates to the new graduates.

In his commencement address, President Gu congratulated the graduates and commended them for their hard work and contribution to the development of Tsinghua. He encouraged the students to aim high, have a “down-to-earth attitude”, and pursue excellence in their future work and study.
