The Ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Sino-Italian Environment & Energy Building, constructed by both Ministry of Science and Technology, China and Ministry for the Environment and Territory, Italy was held in Tsinghua on July 6.
Academician Xu Guanhua, Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Mr. Shang Yong, Vice Minister of Science and Technology, Mr. Zhang Xinsheng, Vice Minister of Education, Dr. Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio, Minister of the Ministry for the Environment and Territory, Italy, Tsinghua President Gu Binglin, and Tsinghua Vice President Chen Jining, attended the ceremony. Tsinghua Vice President Zhang Fengchang hosted the ceremony.
The Sino-Italian Environment & Energy Building (SIEEB) is ecological and energy efficient, powered by clean and renewable energy. It will become the new headquarters of the department of Environmental Science and Engineering.
